Irena Daskalova is a Bulgarian film director. Her short film Beaujolais was officially selected for 22 Bulgarian and international film festivals. It received awards at eight of them, including Best Drama, Best Romantic Film, Best Director, and Best Storytelling. She is a recipient of Award of the 5th Roma Life – Central European Documentary Festival / March 2012, Budapest for the Documentary “Who Are Those Mothers”. Her first feature film project I'll Be Next to You, has been selected for the 2026 Mediterranean Film Institute Script2Film Workshops. She is a director, producer and screenwriter of feature, documentary and animated films.
