The Museum of Religions - an extraordinary and unique place of a kind in Bulgaria, a place where various deities have been worshiped for thousands of years, and the temples dedicated to them have been built up one on top of the other. The Eski Mosque is the only public building survived after the city burned down during the Russo-Turkish War (1877-1878). Immediately after the Liberation, it was used for Christian services and rituals while the destroyed churches in the city were rebuilt.
